Sea level is the average level of the ocean. Changes in sea level can be caused by many different processes that occur over different timescales. Global sea levels are rising due to global heating. Along our coasts postglacial rebound is an important factor for determining local sea-level change.

Se havnivå provides the official sea-level projections for any place along the Norwegian coast. The projections are adopted from the report on sea level, “Sea Level Change for Norway – Past and Present Observations and Projections to 2100”.
